The Titramax VT SULPHUR is specifically designed for the accurate determination of sulphur compounds, such as hydrogen sulphide and mercaptan sulphur, in liquid hydrocarbons and oils.
Using a volumetric titration method with silver nitrate solution in an anhydrous medium, the system facilitates the formation of silver sulphide (Ag₂S) and silver mercaptides. To ensure precise results and prevent the oxidation of sulphur compounds, all analyses are performed under an inert gas atmosphere.
The titration speed is dynamically regulated through advanced control algorithms, ensuring it matches the reaction rate precisely. The system identifies two distinct end points — one for hydrogen sulphide and another for mercaptan sulphur.
Upon completion of the analysis, results are displayed in mg/kg (ppm) for hydrogen sulphide and/or mercaptan sulphur, with options for output in several other units.
