Titramax VT TAN/TBN
Precise Determination of Total Acid and Base Numbers

Product description
The Titramax VT TAN/TBN Titrator is designed for accurate determination of the Total Acid Number (TAN) or Total Base Number (TBN) in oils and fats. The acid number reflects the amount of base needed to neutralize all acidic components in a sample, serving as an important quality indicator for the freshness of oils and fats. The base number measures the quantity of acid that can be neutralized by additives in mineral oils.
The device complies with international standards including ASTM D 664, DIN 51558, IEC 62021-1, and Pharmacopoeia (TAN), as well as ASTM D 2896, ASTM D 4739, ISO 3771, and UOP 269 (TBN).
Using a highly reliable potentiometric titration method in an anhydrous medium, the instrument starts the titration automatically once the oil sample is added to the reagent. Sample weight entry is simple and guided through the intuitive menu. Smart control algorithms dynamically adjust the titration speed to match the reaction rate, ensuring optimal accuracy and efficiency.
The titration proceeds automatically to endpoint detection. Upon completion, results are displayed clearly in mg KOH/g oil or other selectable units, providing flexibility to meet various application requirements.
